Mission

To help the student develop a Christian worldview by integrating faith and knowledge.

Statement of Purpose

Hillsdale Christian School was established by its founders to make available a school which would work in harmony with the home and church in educating young people in all areas of life–spiritual, intellectual, social and physical.

Vision

Hillsdale Christian School students will acquire wisdom, knowledge, and a biblical world-view as evidenced by a lifestyle of character, leadership, service, stewardship, and worship. Specifically, the young men and women who are products of Hillsdale Christian School will mature to loving God with all their heart, soul and mind (Matthew 22:37) – growing in wisdom and stature (Luke 2:52); being willing to stand apart from the world as “salt and light” (Matthew 5:13-14); and giving sacrificially of themselves and their resources, thus reflecting the essence and love of the Christ who lives and dwells within them (Romans 12:1).

Philosophy

The philosophy of Hillsdale Christian School is based on a God-centered view that all truth is God’s truth and that the Bible is the inspired and only infallible, authoritative Word of God containing this truth. As an educational institution, Hillsdale Christian School believes bringing up a child in Christ-likeness is primarily the responsibility and biblical duty of the parent. Our school exists, therefore, to assist in that education, working together with the family and the church. The curriculum of Hillsdale Christian School arises from our philosophy that places God, not man, in the center of all things. (Colossians 2:3, Proverbs 1:7)

HCS Core Values

Glorify God

We believe that HCS exists only because God has established it. Therefore, our primary purpose is to bring glory to Him in all that we do. We strive to be Christ-centered in all of our endeavors and to challenge our students to develop a deeper understanding and relationship with Him.

Bible Centered

While God reveals Himself to mankind through His creation, it is only through the God-inspired pages of Scripture that we can fully know him. The Bible is a treasure beyond measure, and we seek to instill a love for it into our children. Our entire curriculum is based upon the wisdom and instruction we obtain from God’s Holy Word.

Academic Excellence

We believe that excellence in all things brings glory to God. We desire to provide our children an educational experience that provides them with the foundational knowledge they will need to succeed in their future education and life endeavors. HCS strives to provide our teachers with an environment that is conducive to learning and with the tools they need to challenge students to achieve their best.

Good Stewardship

HCS operates on the tuition obtained from families who desire a strong Christian education for their children and from many, many people who give sacrificially of their time and resources. We believe it is our responsibility to these people and the Lord to use wisely that which has been entrusted to us.

Statement of Faith

The Process of education, for the child, includes personal development and the relating of the whole person to God spiritually, academically, socially, physically, and emotionally. This is accomplished by the presentation and integration of God’s Word in all areas of the student’s life. The Hillsdale Christian School board members, employees, and the school families are in agreement with the following statements of faith:

WE BELIEVE:

1. IN ONE GOD, EXISTING ETERNALLY IN THREE PERSONS, FATHER, SON
AND HOLY SPIRIT. (Genesis 1:1, Matthew 28:19, John 10:30)

2. THAT THE BIBLE IS THE INSPIRED WORD OF GOD WITHOUT ERROR IN
THE ORIGINAL MANUSCRIPT, AND THE PERFECT STANDARD FOR
FAITH AND PRACTICE. (II Timothy 3:15, II Peter 1:21)

3. IN THE a: VIRGIN BIRTH OF JESUS CHRIST & HIS DEITY, b: HIS SINLESS
LIFE c: HIS CRUCIFIXION, d: HIS BODILY RESURRECTION, and e: HIS
ASCENSION TO THE FATHER WHERE HE IS NOW IN THE PRESENCE
OF GOD ACTING AS OUR INTERCESSOR.
a: (Isaiah 7:14, Matthew 1:23) b: (Hebrews 4:15, 7, 26, John 10:30)
c: (I Corinthians 15:3, Ephesians 1:7) d: (John 11:35, I Corinthians 15:4)
e: (Mark 16:19)

4. THAT MAN WAS CREATED IN THE IMAGE OF GOD BY THE DIRECT WILL
OF GOD. (Genesis 1:26, 28, Genesis 5:1-2)

5. THAT BECAUSE OF THE FALL OF ADAM, ALL MEN ARE BORN IN SIN AND
IN NEED OF A SAVIOR. (Romans 3:23, John 3:16-19)

6. THAT WE ARE SAVED BY GRACE THROUGH FAITH IN JESUS CHRIST.
THROUGH GOD’S ONLY BEGOTTEN SON WHO SHED HIS BLOOD ON
THE CROSS IN ATONEMENT FOR OUR SINS AND OUR ETERNAL
SALVATION. (Ephesians 2:8-10, Romans 5:8,9)

7. THAT THE INDWELLING OF THE HOLY SPIRIT ENABLES US TO LIVE A
GODLY LIFE. (I Corinthians 6:19-20, Romans 8:13-14)

8. IN THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD, THE JUST TO ETERNAL JOY WITH
CHRIST, THE UNJUST TO ETERNAL PUNISHMENT IN HELL.
(John 5:28-29, Revelations 20: 11-15)

9. IN THE PERSONAL RETURN OF OUR LORD AND SAVIOR, JESUS CHRIST.
(Acts 1:11, Revelations 19:11)
