Potential School Schedule Changes 2-9-2010

With the winter weather and freezing temperatures that we will be experiencing over night, there is a possibility that school will start late on Tuesday, February 9, 2010.
If delayed start the schedule will be as follows:
School Start - 10:00 am
Bus Schedule - Locke Supply 9:00 to 9:10 am, and OBA 9:25 am
Van Schedule - Lake Hellums 9:20 and Gray's 9:35

Also, please note that the students will not be singing at Hillsdale Bible Church tomorrow for the Ladies Missionary group. It has been rescheduled for March. Lunch will be served at school.

Ulysses S. Grant Visits HCS

Ulysses S. Grant protrayed by Dr. Tom King was the special feature of HCS's Winter Chautauqua on Tuesday, February 2. Dr. King protraying former President Grant in period costume shared information from his childhood, military career and presidency. HCS students were able to ask questions of both the former President as well as Dr. King.

Thank you to Dr. King and to Dr. Provine for bringing this presentation to our school.

Valentine Cookie Grams

Join with the students of HCS to help with the relief effort in Haiti. The 3rd and 4th grade classes are selling "Cookie Grams" for $1.00 each with all proceeds going to Haiti. You have the choice for your "Valentine(s)" to receive either one large iced cookie or 4 small bite-sized cookies to be delivered on Friday, February 12.

Orders along with payment are now being taken in the hallway before school. Please send your order form along with payment no later than Monday, February 8.

Welcome Mrs. Dillard

In January, HCS was excited to welcome Mrs. Nancy Dillard into our school family as our new music teacher. Mrs. Dillard has many years experience in teaching children. You can find her bio on our Faculty page. Please join us in making her feel at home at Hillsdale Christian School.

Bake Sale For Haiti

HCS fifth and sixth grade students baked cookies and brownies Monday morning for a school bake sale. All proceeds will go to the relief effort in Haiti.

Along with the money that will be raised over the next couple of weeks, students also wrote letters to President Obama encouraging him as he makes decisions for our country and the United States mission in Haiti. As of Tuesday, January 19, $209 has been raised.

A breakfast will be offered on Wednesday, January 27. A note with the menu and price will be sent home at a later date.

Way to go HCS students for supporting this important cause!
