Renae is a 1996 graduate of Phillips University and has been with Hillsdale Christian School since 1997. She served as a classroom teacher for twelve years and as an educational therapist with the Discovery Program for two. She will be finishing a master’s degree in Educational Therapy this summer, and is pursuing a master’s degree in Educational Leadership.  

Renae and her husband, Drew, have a child named Jesse who has Down Syndrome. Jesse is a wonderful blessing from God and is already defying the odds. The Haymakers attend Davis Park Christian Church in Enid.  


Bobby Tennell –  5th & 6th grade Science & Math

The 2011-2012 school year will be Mr. Tennell’s tenth year at HCS. He believes that students can achieve above and beyond their age, but only if those expectations are placed upon them. Working together with teachers, students, and parents, he places high expectations on his students in all areas, not only academically, but socially and spiritually.   

Mr. Tennell and his wife, Kathryn, have two children – Emma who is a second grader at HCS and Braden.  


Brenda Hoffsommer – Administrative Assistant

Mrs. Hoffsommer has served at Hillsdale Christian School since 1995. She is excited to be a part of what God does at His school each year.   

Mrs. Hoffsommer and her husband, Steve, are blessed to have their two daughters and their families living close by in Hillsdale. They love spending time with their four grandchildren and are active members of Hillsdale Bible Church.  


Donna Thomason – Pre-Kindergarten

Mrs. Thomason has been working with children for over 19 years. She believes that each child is a gift from God that has been created uniquely, and that God gives each child different strengths and weaknesses for the purpose of furthering His kingdom.   

Mrs. Thomason does not view what she does as a job, but rather as a ministry. Her prayer is that God would use her as He sees fit to share His love and to instill the love of learning in each child that she comes in contact with. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University.  


Carol Perry – 1st Grade

Mrs. Perry recently graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University with a degree in Early Childhood. She had a dream of teaching for many years and once her own children were grown was able to make it a reality. She worked with younger children for over 20 years through Sunday School, VBS, Jr. Church and childcare in her home.   

Mrs. Perry did her student teaching at Coolidge and McKinley Elementary schools in Enid. An Enid native, she and her husband, Jim, raised their three daughters there, and are active members of Cedar Ridge Wesleyan Church. They are the proud grandparents of seven grandchildren.  


Gretchen Streck – 2nd Grade

Mrs. Streck and her husband, Leland, have two children. Ricky attends NWOSU and Carissa is a sixth grader at HCS. Mrs. Streck graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in Alva in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science in Education degree. This will be her tenth year to teach at HCS. She is a member of Hillsdale Bible Church, where she is currently the Jr. Sunday School Assistant and sings in the choir.   

Mrs. Streck is thankful for the opportunity she has to teach at HCS. It had been a dream since she was a child to become a teacher. She loves the freedom that she has at HCS to talk about the Lord and share with others the things He has done in her life over the years.  


Sally Stevens – 3rd & 4th Grade Combined

Mrs. Stevens has 23 years of experience in teaching both in public and Christian schools. She and her husband, Tommy, are life-long residents of Enid, and have four children and three grandchildren. Mrs. Stevens holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Education from Phillips University. She is certified in both administration and teaching grades 1 – 8.   

Mrs. Stevens loves teaching children in a Christian environment and seeing the joy of the Lord’s handiwork everyday! She and her husband are active  members of Willow View Methodist Church in Enid.

Miss Kodesh began her teaching career at HCS in 2006. She attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma where she obtained a degree in Elementary Education. Her teaching philosophy is summed up in Proverbs 9:10 which states, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” As a teacher, her prayer is that Jesus would receive glory through her life and the lives of her students as they passionately learn, grow, and serve the one true God, our Creator and Savior – Jesus Christ.
 

Miss Kodesh enjoys singing, playing the piano and guitar, running, and playing sports. Miss Kodesh is an active member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and has a love for missions, having spent several summers abroad serving as a missionary.

 


Emily Buller – Physical Education

Mrs. Buller received an Associates degree in Business and played basketball at Hesston College, Hesston, Kansas. God has given her a passion for sports and children. She feels that she has been given an incredible opportunity to share this passion with the students at HCS, and encourages each child to do their best in all activities and to have fun.   

Mrs. Buller and her husband, John, are extremely proud of their family “team” – Jessica (6th), Samuel (4rd), and Jacob (PreK), and are each other’s biggest fans. The Bullers are active members of Enid Mennonite Bretheren Church.  


Amy Voth – Kindergarten

Mrs. Voth is a graduate of Moody Bible Institute. She received her teaching certificate from the State of Oklahoma last year and is excited to be teaching Kindergarten for the first time.

She and her husband, Philip, have four children: Abbie, a seventh grader at OBA, and Grace, Noah, and Daniel, who all attend HCS. The Voths have been part of the HCS “family” for 6 years. They are thankful for how God has enriched their lives through the school and its ministry, and Mrs. Voth is looking forward to seeing what God will do here this year.
