Mrs. Thomason has been working with children for over 19 years. She believes that each child is a gift from God that has been created uniquely, and that God gives each child different strengths and weaknesses for the purpose of furthering His kingdom. Mrs. Thomason does not view what she does as a job, but rather as a ministry. Her prayer is that God would use her as He sees fit to share His love and to instill the love of learning in each child that she comes in contact with. She holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education from Auburn University. Donna & her husband, Pat, attend Community Bible Church and help with the youth group.
Mrs. Lentz grew up in Enid but spent many years moving with her husband, an Air Force pilot, and their four children in support of his career. The Lentz's chose to return to Enid following his retirement because they love Oklahoma and the family values still abundant in this part of the country. Mrs. Lentz has degrees from Oklahoma State University and also the University of Central Oklahoma, and is certified to teach pre-kindergarten through 8th grade, as well as special education. The Lentz's have four grown children and 8 grandchildren (so far.) Mrs. Lentz has been involved with children and young adults in one way or another for the past 40 years. She is grateful that the Lord brought her to Hillsdale Christian School to finish her teaching career -- one of these days. "Teaching in a school where faith is so openly included in every part of the day has been a tremendous blessing to me. I am very pleased to have been given the opportunity to teach at HCS."
Lexie is a 1999 graduate of Pioneer High School. After high school she attended Northwestern Oklahoma State University and earned a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Psychology. She then moved to Colorado where she worked for a school photography company as the office manager and photographer. Two years later she moved back to Oklahoma and earned her Master’s degree in Business from Southwestern Oklahoma State University. Lexie, her husband, Ryan, and their daughter, Paxtyn, live in Enid and attend Faith Center Fellowship Church in Meno, OK.
Mrs. Moffatt is a 2016 graduate of Bethel Seminary's Doctor of Ministry Degree program. She has previously served in youth and children's ministries, as well as pastoral, mentoring, tutoring, and teaching roles with learners of all ages from pre-school through undergraduates in Massachusetts and Kansas. Her passion is seeing learners of all ages become more devoted followers of Jesus. Teaching and discipleship are intertwined for her, and she is excited to be serving as a teacher at Hillsdale Christian School. She is married to Howard, a pastor and Seminary Professor. She has one son in Massachusetts, two grown children in Oklahoma and Colorado, and six grandchildren. She is a lifelong fan of the Red Sox.
Mr. Hoffsommer graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1975 and has been involved as a teacher, coach, or administrator for 39 of the past 40 years. My wife, Brenda, and I live in Hillsdale, as well as our two daughters and their families. We have four grandchildren that attend HCS. Brenda and I are members of Hillsdale Bible Church where I have taught a Men’s Sunday School Class for the past 16 years. God has richly blessed us and I enjoy being a part of this wonderful school.
Mrs. Voth is a 1997 graduate of Moody Bible Institute. She received her teaching certificate from the State of Oklahoma in 2012 and is excited to be teaching Kindergarten. She and her husband, Philip, have four children: Abbie, Grace, Noah, and Daniel. The Voth's have been part of the HCS “family” since 2005. They are thankful for how God has enriched their lives through the school and it's ministry, and Mrs. Voth is looking forward to seeing what God will do here this year.
Peggy Goodrich, teacher of Life Lessons, was raised on a Farm/Ranch in Pawnee County, OK. She graduated from Phillips University with a BS in Secondary Education. She writes a weekly column for the Enid News & Eagle and has authored a book, Homemade Food for Thought. Most of her life she worked in the medical field. Her hobbies are cooking, entertaining, singing, decorating, writing, and antiquing. She lives in Enid with her dog, Richey. She has no children beyond her students at Hillsdale Christian School.
Mrs. Spencer teaches PE for grades PreK -4th, is a teacher's aide, and drives the school van. Before coming to Hillsdale, she spent the past 16 years home educating her three daughters. She has been married to husband Steve for 32 years. They attend Hillsdale Bible Church where Steve is the worship leader and Jackie works with the younger children in Sunday School, Children's Church, and the Nursery. They have one daughter still at home and in the 8th grade at Hillsdale. They also have 2 amazing grandchildren.
Mrs. Haymaker is a 1996 graduate of Phillips University where she received her Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education. She served HCS as a classroom teacher for 12 years. She is a certified Educational Therapist through the National Institute for Learning Development. She completed her Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 2013. Renae and her husband, Drew, have a son named Jesse. Jesse has Down Syndrome and has a smile that will melt your heart. The Haymaker's attend Hillsdale Bible Church.
Mrs. Stevens had 23 years of experience in teaching both in public and Christian schools when she began teaching at Hillsdale Christian School in 2009. She and her husband, Tommy, are life-long residents of Enid, and have four children and five grandchildren. Mrs. Stevens holds a Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s degree in Education from Phillips University. She is certified in both administration and teaching grades 1 – 8. Mrs. Stevens loves teaching children in a Christian environment and seeing the joy of the Lord’s handiwork everyday! She and her husband are active members of Willow View Methodist Church in Enid.
Mrs. Streck graduated from Northwestern Oklahoma State University in 1988 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education. She began teaching at HCS in 1990. After moving away from Hillsdale for 10 years, she returned to HCS in 2008. She is a member of Hillsdale Bible Church, where she is the Jr. Sunday School Superintendent and helps with the Youth Group. She and her husband, Leland have 1 son, Ricky, a daughter-in-law, Shelby, and 1 daughter, Carissa. Mrs. Streck is thankful for the opportunity she has to teach at HCS. It had been a dream since she was a child to be a teacher. Teaching about the Lord in a school environment is a winning combination!
The 2014-2015 school year will be Mr. Tennell’s eleventh year at HCS. He believes that students can achieve above and beyond their age, but only if those expectations are placed upon them. Working together with teachers, students, and parents, he places high expectations on his students in all areas, not only academically, but socially and spiritually. Mr. Tennell and his wife, Kathryn, have two children – Emma and Braden – who attend HCS.
Mrs. Lloyd graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1997 with a Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education. She taught 1st grade at HCS from 1997-2008 before her two daughters, Mia and Sadie, were born. She came back to HCS in 2014. She is excited to bear witness to God’s work in the lives of the Hillsdale Christian School family. Mrs. Lloyd and her husband, Royce, are members of Hillsdale Bible Church, where they help with the Youth Group. She also enjoys watching movies and sports, traveling, and planning parties for friends and family.
Leland Streck has one great passion: to see others gain, grow in, and glorify Christ. He is a graduate of Northwestern Oklahoma State (1989) and Dallas Theological Seminary (1998). He has served as a pastor in SD and NE, and presently serves Zoar Church in Goltry, OK. He also assists with the youth ministry at Hillsdale Bible Church and works at Enid Christian Bookstore. He enjoys writing and has authored two books (Pressing On... When You'd Rather Press Stop and Looking Through the Straw) and is currently working on a commentary of the Harmony of the Gospels. He is married to Gretchen, and is the father of Ricky (and Shelby), Ryan (deceased), and Carissa.
Miss Kodesh began her teaching career at HCS in 2006. She attended East Central University in Ada, Oklahoma where she obtained a degree in Elementary Education. Her teaching philosophy is summed up in Proverbs 9:10 which states, “The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom, and knowledge of the Holy One is understanding.” As a teacher, her prayer is that God would receive glory through her life and the lives of her students as they learn, grow, and serve the one true God, our Creator and Savior – Jesus Christ. Miss Kodesh enjoys music and sports, and she is passionate about making God known through worldwide missions.
